James Marten

James P. Marten (born April 18, 1984 in Indianapolis, Indiana) is a former American football offensive tackle. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Marten was also a member of the Chicago Bears, the Oakland Raiders, and the Miami Dolphins. He played college football at Boston College.
==Early years==
Marten was an All-State and All-County selection in football at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis. He also practiced the discus throw and basketball, where he was a part of the State 3A championship team in 2000.
Marten accepted a scholarship to play at Boston College. As a redshirt freshman in 2003, he was the backup to left tackle Jeremy Trueblood. He was the starter at left guard in 2004 and 2005. He was moved to left tackle for the 2006 season, where he earned second-team All-ACC honors.
